Wow, well, my apologies!! Apparently the crazy busy year got a hold of me and I did not update our blog at all last year. So, this is 2017 in a nutshell:
1. Jan/Feb - weekend trips to see Mike & Jan Holien and Regina Cruz (on the way) in FL and another to Highland County, VA where good friends, Ken & Dani Frank live. Lots and lots of house fixing up.
2. March - Pearl gets glasses; Visit from TJs god-parents and good friends, Kelly & Joel Gregozeski with their kiddos to see GA. We got up to northern GA with them and took a great hike near Helen (the waterfall picture). More house fixing up!
3. April - Ali/TJ/Rosie's birthdays. Visits from Tom & Pat Henrich and Tim & Sherry Henrich and boys from WI. Kris even got to go to the Masters practice round! Put house on the market.
4. May - House sold, school finishes for summer and we move to temporary townhouse. Kris' birthday. Baseball and Spring volleyball seasons! Lots of "lasts"...
5. June - Logan's birthday, volleyball camp and Kris' retirement from US Navy after 20 years honorable service. It was an amazing ceremony with guest speaker, Mike Ward (honorary Grampy in our kids' eyes) and Ken Frank as MC. Lots and lots of laughter and tears had by all that weekend!
6. July - Back in MN and began scrubbing and fixing our house in Atwater. Attempts to go fishing and "relax". Fun trip to SD for JazzFest (kids got camp night with Grandma and Grandpa Holien and some cousins) and WI for Ali's 20th class reunion; visits from Mumme's (and our youngest Godchild). TJ is potty-trained!! We are diaper free.
7. August - More attempts to fish and "relax"; lots of tree marking and felling; road trips with Grandma, farm chores, CHICKENS, County Fair, etc.
8. September - SCHOOL!! Kris starts tech school at Ridgewater for the Electrician's program, older three start school at New London-Spicer schools (Rosie at middle and Logan/Pearl in elementary), TJ starts preschool (2 mornings/week), Pearl's birthday, Grandma Jan retires from State of MN, Ali starts working from home for law office. BTW, if you like black walnuts - LET US KNOW!!!
9. October - gymnastics camp for girls, harvest; meet up with family members and friends around the state.
Ali
starts attending a MOMS (Making our Motherhood Significant) social group and
enjoys the opportunity. Visit from cousin Krysta and kiddos! We are gifted 5 kittens from Aunt Vera.
10. November - Ali starts working in office 3 days/week, TJ goes to preschool ALL day/2 days and daycare for 1 day.
11. December - Logan starts wrestling practices and Kris manages to ace his classes and gets off ACADEMIC PROBATION!!
And that's our year! Enjoy the pictures and DO keep in touch. Time passes quickly, but memories last forever. We love you all!
