The Move & Georgia Month One

So, the 5 weeks without our things flew by.  I don't think anyone was bored with all the good-bye's, playdates, farewells and the normal moving activities.  In fact, it brought a new awareness to myself (not sure the kids will agree) but we can survive with very little!  Kris and I were thankful for good friends to help with kids and moving needs (ie. cleaning, selling car, etc.) and it was a bittersweet move from Catworth to our temporary house on Alconbury, then to the hotel in Augusta and then to our temporary rental.  We have put an offer on a house (847 Prairie Lane, Augusta, GA 30809) and it was accepted!  Praise God.  So, if all goes well, we should be closing on November 30, 2015 and then moving in with the help of Papa & Grandma Henrich who will be down here visiting.  We hope to get the kids enrolled at River Ridge Elementary once we have the document from the bank stating it's our residence in Georgia.  

We are doing well in our new "home".  Still sharing one vehicle (but thankful to have the van anyway!) and Kris is getting adjusted to a new role at Fort Gordon with hundreds of sailors to manage.  I'm getting used to being housebound and not having the freedom to leave when I want (this is a good thing, but hard.)  We are expected Grandma and Grandpa Holien Friday or Saturday and we couldn't be more excited!  They are bringing lots of love, Kris' car and our guns.  Yeah!  We have tried to get out and explore our surroundings as you will see in the pictures, but mostly, we are just hanging out and being together.  This is good! 

Thank you for your letters and emails!  You can reach us at our temporary house address 1221 Longpoint Drive, Augusta, GA 30906 until 30 November 2015.  Please make sure if you mail something it gets here before that date as we have our other mail directed to Minnesota and it will get lost when we leave this house.  Thanks!

Rosie's fairy village

Oh!  Pumpkin carving.  Rosie and Logan has their ideas drawn up since Monday!  Pearl decided it was too dirty to help.  TJ got a kick out of it. 

Rosie powered through the stink!  Her pumpkin rotted, inside the house since we waited to carve them until Friday (30 October).  That's what happens in warm climates, I guess!

Trunk or Treat at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church 31 October.  It was a great way to celebrate Halloween.
